Mack's Obituary
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Rev. Dawn Oldenburg officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Run Cemetery in Scottdale. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Mack was born January 24, 1965 in St. Joseph to Rubin & Jo (Wagner) Isom. He graduated from Lakeshore High School, Class of 1983. Mack was employed for many years at Michigan Standard Alloys, before joining Berrien County Road Department on December 1, 1997. He loved his work. There was no job that he couldn’t do or equipment that he couldn’t operate. He was currently employed as a lead worker. Mack also enjoyed the time spent at his second job with Sunnybrook Farms in Baroda where he worked for many years.
Mack was a member of Scottdale United Methodist Church, The Sons of The American Legion, Baroda Post #345, and the Grand Mere Pistol Club. He was a people person who had friends too numerous to mention. Mack was an avid Notre Dame fan as well as anything John Deere, and loved all animals. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and just being outdoors. For several years, he played softball on the Zion Church Baroda team. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mack is survived by his father Rubin of St. Joseph; his brother Frank Isom and long-time companion Joe Reid, of Phoenix, AZ; his long-time companion Shelley Jasper of St. Joseph; aunts-Nancy Wagner of St. Joseph & Sandy Merrill of Berrien Springs, and several cousins. Mack was preceded in death his mother Jo on July 21, 2011, his uncle Ron Wagner and his aunt Mary Bell Palmer.
