Lovina's Obituary
Lovina B. Clark, 94, of Stevensville, passed away, Friday, February 24, 2023 at A Place Called Home in Stevensville where she resided.
Private burial will take place at Hickory Bluff Cemetery in Stevensville. Memorial donations in Lovina’s name may be made to Caring Circle Hospice in St. Joseph. Those wishing to sign Lovina’s Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.
Lovina was born May 5, 1928 in Manila, Arkansas to H.T. & Lillian (Cullins) Chapin. She graduated from Manila High School, Class of 1946. On October 26, 1946 she married Burgess E. Clark in Manila. Lovina and Burgess moved to St. Joseph where they raised their family. Lovina was employed for thirty plus years at Sanitary Cleaners in St. Joseph, retiring in 1995. She was a long-time member of Niles Avenue Baptist Church where she taught adult Sunday School Class. In her free time, Lovina enjoyed crocheting, and cherished the time spent with her family and her Church family. Lovina’s family would like to thank Meagan Frye and the staff at A Place Called Home for the excellent care afforded to Lovina for the last year.
Lovina is survived by her children-Joe (Diane) Clark of Stevensville, Ron (Linda) Clark of Hartford, MI, Linda M. Clark of Elgin, TX; grandchildren-Wade (Nicole) Clark, Mandy (Brad) Metzger, Greg (Rasonda) Clark, Doug (Izzy) Clark, Todd Clark, Sara Overton, Ashley Clark, Ronnie Volkmar, & David Volkmar; great-grandchildren-Reece, & Olyvia Clark, Addison, Emmy & Max Clark, Gonza, Hunter & Roxie Clark, Tate, Lola & Atticus Volkmar, Sahana & Sara Ward, Ensley & Braxton Overton; two sisters-Judy Gardner of Coloma & Nell Fain of Sommerset, KY; her brother Jim (Sue) Chapin; and numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Burgess on February 3, 1991, her granddaughter Chandra Volkmar, her brother James “Sonny” (Sharon) Chapin & sister Venita Abercrombie.
