Leanna's Obituary
Leanna M. Friesen, 81, of St. Joseph, passed away, Friday, May 16, 2024 at Royalton Manor where she most recently resided.

Leanna was born February 20, 1943 in St. Joseph to Arnold & Geraldine (Spear) Burandt. She enjoyed the time spent on the family farm & nursery in St. Joseph and graduated from Lakeshore High School, Class of 1961 and from Valparaiso University with a Bachelor degree. On March 28, 1970, she married Lawrence “Larry” Friesen in St. Joseph. Leanna spent many years as a Biology teacher at Bridgman High School. While teaching, she was a member of the Michigan and the National Education Associations. In her free time, Leanna enjoyed flower gardening and was a member of the local garden club, and also enjoyed cooking.
Leanna is survived by her sister-in-law Donna Nordstrom-Burandt; and her nephew & niece Adam Burandt of St. Joseph & Amy Burandt of Ann Arbor. She was preceded in death by her husband Larry Friesen on August 2, 2011 and her brother Craig Burandt on January 20, 2017.
