Larry's Obituary
Lawrence J. “Larry” Chabitch, 80, of Coloma, passed away on January 10, 2023. A
Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Memorial

Larry was born on March, 15, 1942 in Dowagiac to Raymond & June (Feece)
Chabitch. He graduated from Decatur High School in 1960 and continued his
education by attending Lake Michigan College and earning an associates in
drafting. Following college, he was recruited by Whirlpool to work in their research
and development department until 1968. He would later work at EC Smith &
Associates and would eventually purchase the business before selling his portion and
moving his wife and daughter to Washington. Larry enjoyed building and
remodeling homes, wood working and spending time at the library reading. Upon
returning to the state of Michigan, Larry had purchased an old farm house and
enjoyed spending his days there fixing it up.
Larry is survived by his daughter, Lori (Stan) Chabitch Wroblewski; siblings, Les
(Dorothy) Chabitch, Jim (Karen) Chabitch, and Ann (Leo) Flory; numerous nieces
& nephews; and former spouse, Sharrie Shante. He was preceded in death by his
parents and nephew Matt Chabitch.
