Larry's Obituary
Larry was born on March 20, 1936, in Benton Harbor, to Lynn & Mary (Harner) Miller. In 1954, Larry graduated from Benton Harbor High School. Following high school, Larry proudly enlisted in the United States Navy serving our country from 1953 until he was honorably discharged in 1957. On August 28, 1965 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Larry married the love of his life, Bonnie Mandarino. Together the two began their wonderful family with the addition of their daughter, Terri. Spending time with family gave Larry the biggest smile; he loved being surrounded by friends and family creating memories. Larry worked as an electrician for Bosch (formally known as Bendix) for nearly 40 years before retiring in 1996. He enjoyed spending his time outdoors fishing, playing baseball and golf, and working one day a week at Pebblewood Golf Course. Larry was a proud member of the Stevensville VFW Post 568 and former member of The Elks Club.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Bonnie; grandchildren, Kali and Nick Schlee; great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Schlee; nephews, Chuck Jaymes & Jon Bachteal; brothers-in-law, Don & Scott Mandarino; sister-in-law, Janet (Don) Zwar; and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lynn & Mary Miller; daughter, Terri Miller; sister, Marilyn Bachteal; nephew, Jim Bachteal; and sister-in-law, Robin Mandarino.
