Larry's Obituary
Larry Gene Trail, 77, of Benton Harbor, MI passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Hanson Hospice in Stevensville surrounded by family.
Larry was born June 8, 1944 in McHenry, KY, son of Charles and Marie Trail. Larry is survived by his wife, Margaret (Reid) of 56 years; son, Rodney (Renee) Trail; grandson, Charles John “CJ”; granddaughter, Kirstie; sister, Kay Schnieder; many nieces, nephews and his beloved companion, fur baby Molly. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Marie Trail; sister, Betty (Paul) Baum and brother-in-law, Robert (Bob) Schnieder.
Larry was a Navy veteran (1961-1965); worked in many manufacturing jobs over the years and was an active pillar of the community. The family would like to thank Caring Circle Hospice and Hanson Hospice Center for their kindness and support. Per Larry’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
Family will receive guests at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI on Thursday, October 28, 2021 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. A private memorial will be held at a later date at Fort Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Larry may be made to Humane Society of Southwestern Michigan.
