Kenneth “Kenny Mo” H. Smith, 64, of Benton Harbor, Michigan passed away Monday, August 14, 2023, at Centrica Rose Arbor Place in Kalamazoo, MI.
Kenneth was the third child born to Robert and Lula Mae Williams on September 21, 1958, in Benton Harbor, MI. He attended Benton Harbor High School, and was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Kenneth was employed with several companies during his time in Benton Harbor. He also resided in Columbia, SC for several years.
Kenny’s life was blessed with six loving children whom he was very proud of; Kentego (Scarlett), Kennisha, and LaToya all of Kalamazoo, MI and Kenyatta of Columbia, SC, Kelvin and Samiah of Benton Harbor, MI.
In addition to his children, Kenny is survived by three grandchildren; Kenniyah, Kennasia, and Jayceon McLean, step-father; James Glaspy; brother, Bryant (Pamela) Williams; sisters, Brenda Manning, Diane (Joe) Wright, Janice Hamilton, Lucretia Glaspy, Lisa Bobo and his closest niece, Sharenia Collier and a host of other nieces, nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, grandfather, George Washington (Big Daddy), and brothers Michael, Kelvin, and James Williams.
Kenny’s family invites his friends to celebrate his life at his Homegoing Service Friday, August 25, 2023, beginning at 11:00 am at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, 1105 E. Main Street, Benton Harbor, MI. Pastor Carlton Lynch will be officiating. Viewing will be held prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00 am. Interment will be at North Shore Memory Gardens following the service. Those wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at www.starksfamilyfh.com. Arrangement have been entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Chapel.
Donations in his name may be made to the Centrica Care Navigators (Rose Arbor Hospice) where Kenny spent his final days under the compassionate care of the facility’s phenomenal medical and administrative staff.
