Karen Thumm, 58, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Monday, August 29, 2022 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 613 Court St., in St. Joseph with Pastor Michael Roth officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date at North Shore Memory Gardens. Friends may visit from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Friday, September 2, 2022 at Starks and Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Karen was born December 30, 1963 in St. Joseph, MI to Jimmie & Phyllis (Radde) Thumm. She Graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1982. Karen worked for the Whitcomb for over 30 years as a Laundry Attendant. She was a life long member of Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph. Karen was the most loving, caring, and kindhearted person who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends especially Saturday dinners with her cousin Julie and Sunday dinners at her brother’s house. Karen also enjoyed cheering on the Green Bay Packers and the University of Michigan Wolverines.
Karen is survived by her brother David (Mary) Thumm; sister Linda Babechenko; nephews Jason (Rachael) Storm, Aaron Thumm, and Niklas Babechenko; niece Noelle (Joshua) Andringa; step-nephews Jeremy & Aaron Akins; great nieces and nephews Rhiannon & Luke Storm, Eric, Steven, Sara, Persephone Andringa; aunts Joan Radde and Donna Radde; and many cousins and friends.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law Dennis Babechenko.
