Joyce's Obituary

Joyce Ann Baum, 84, of St. Joseph, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2022 peacefully at home surrounded by her family and dear friend of 62 years, Joyce Wood.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022 at 12:00 P.M. at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd, St Joseph, with Pastor Knox officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. on Friday, July 22, 2022 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to The Berrien County Cancer Service or Caring Circle Hospice. Those wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.

Joyce was born February 22, 1938 in St. Joseph, MI to Herbert and Esther (Mischke) Kelm. She graduated from St. Joseph High School 1956. She married her high school sweetheart at Trinity Lutheran Church on May 3, 1958. Joyce worked for Lake Shore Studios until her retirement after more than 25 years. She made many great friendships while working there, and was honored to earn the title of being a “Shady Lady”. She was a proud member of FOP Lodge #96 and loved to spend time volunteering for the Silver Beach Carousel. Joyce loved to spend time tending to her flowers and working in the yard. Her favorite thing in life was being able to spend time with family and friends and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Joyce is survived by sons, Blaine (Sue) Baum of St. Joseph, Brian (Kelly) Baum of Lawrenceburg, KY and daughter, Lori (Jeff) Anderson of Stevensville; grandchildren, Brandon & Kate, Natasha, Alex & Brittany, Max & Erin, Kent & Taylor, Collin & Faith, Payton, Ella, Lily and Noah; great-grandchildren, Darren, Jack, Honora, Anthony, Sophia, Connor and Brooke. She was preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband, Donald Baum.
