Joseph's Obituary

Joseph Puzsar, Jr., 89, of St. Joseph, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at his residence, Provision Living of St. Joseph. Joe was born on August 18, 1934, to Joseph Sr., and Mary (Bejciy) Puzsar in Follansbee, WV. He graduated from Follansbee High School in 1952 and earned a B.S. in Business Administration from West Liberty State College in West Liberty, WV in 1956. He also served in the United States Army and spent two years in Korea.

On August 25, 1963, Joe married Nancy Marracino at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Steubenville, OH. He spent his career as a salesman in the steel industry and resided in the Detroit area for most of his life. Joe was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed cooking, watching sports and Westerns on television, spending time outdoors working in his yard, and having an occasional Miller High Life.

Joe is survived by his three children, Dr. Brian (Jennifer) Puzsar, Michele (Steven) Borre, and Michael (Julie) Puzsar; grandchildren, Mathew Borre, Andrew Borre, Nicholas Borre, Zachary Borre, Jordyn Puzsar, Sophia Puzsar and Stephen Puzsar; sister, Mary Katherine Darago; sisters-in-law, Mary Marracino and Mary McCue; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Puzsar; parents-in-law, Filomeno and Maria Marracino; wife, Nancy Puzsar; and brothers-in-law John Darago, Savino Marracino, and Edward “Terry” McCue.
