Joseph Ben Kovar, 82, of St. Joseph, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2024, at Whitcomb Towers, St. Joseph
Joey was born on May 25, 1942, to Ben and Ann (Adam) Kovar in Berwyn, IL. He graduated from Lakeshore High School. Professionally, Joey dedicated 40 years at Reynolds Aluminum in Illinois, retiring at 58.
Joey had a profound interest in history. Whether it was reading books, collecting any antiques, classic cars etc. He enjoyed putting model cars together and being outside working on his yard. Joey was caring and sentimental, most of all, he cherished time with his family.
Joey is survived by his nephew, Edward “Eddie” (Sarah) Kovar; nieces, Corina (Jeff) Rasor and Betty (William) Blocker; great-nieces & nephews, Brianna Krugh, Abagail Kovar, and several others; sister-in-law, Rose Kovar and dear friends, Julie (Thad) DeForest. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben & Ann Kovar and brother, Edward Kovar.
Inurnment in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Evergreen Park, IL will take place per Joey’s wishes. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Caring Circle Hospice.
