Joseph's Obituary
Joseph Francipane, age 98 passed away early Saturday, September 16, 2023. Joe was born March 23, 1925, in New Orleans to the parents of Angelo Francipane and Nenfa Plances. He enlisted in the Navy on March 24, 1942, and was honorably discharged on March 30, 1946. He completed his high school education at Delgato Junior College.
On February 3rd of 1951, he married his lovely wife Marjorie Marie Tibo in New Orleans. Together they had 3 children. He attended college in California at Northrop Institute for a degree in Aeronautical Engineering. He furthered his career in Aerospace developing a Saturn 5 Booster Engine for the space program at Chrysler in New Orleans. To end his career, he retired from marine engineering in Newport News, Virginia. In his last 42 years, he resided in Gretna and Covington and then moved to Michigan with his daughter.
He will be greatly missed by his 3 children and their children - Stanley and Nell of Covington, Louisiana and their children Jessica and Natalie, Kathrine and Bill Thomas of South Haven, Michigan and their children Bill Jr, Krisanne and Lauren, Terry and Tammy of Diamondhead, Mississippi and their children Kevin and Cory. He will also be missed by the love he gave to his 8 great grandchildren.
Joe was preceded by the death of his wife Marjorie, his parents and his brother Chester. He is survived by his 3 sisters Cecile, Joan and Irene.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at the home he and Marjorie built and now where his son and his family resides at 105 Warrior Trace, Covington, Louisiana on Saturday September 30, 2023, at 1:00pm.
The family has requested a donation in leu of flowers to the organization of your choice in memory of Joseph V. Francipane.
