John George Godush Jr., 88, of Stevensville, MI passed away Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Woodland Terrace of Bridgman.
A Gathering will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. A private family burial will be held on Friday, March 11, 2022 at Hickory Bluff Cemetery in Stevensville. Memorials may be made to Caring Circle Hospice or the Stevensville American Legion Post 568. John was born May 4, 1933 in St. Joseph, MI to John & Mabel (Beckman) Godush Sr. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1951. John served his country in the United States Army from 1953 until 1955 during the Korean Theater. On June 7, 1958 he married Jeanine Myers in St. Joseph, MI. John was a plumber for City Plumbing and Heating for 45 years. He was a member of the UA 357 for 65 years. John and his wife enjoyed their numerous travels together. Some of John’s favorite activities were fishing, hunting, taking care of his house and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and attending their many events and building bird houses with them.
John is survived by his son John (Jacquie) Godush; daughter Amy (Scott) Robertson; five grandchildren John (Meg) Godush, Alexis (Kyle) Johns, Angela Godush, Joseph Robertson and Jacob Robertson; two great grandchildren Vincent and Luca Johns; siblings Annamae Yeager, Lewis Godush, George (Judy) Godush, Martha (George) Kavanaugh, Jerry Godush, David Godush and Randy Godush; John was preceded in death by his parents, wife Jeanine Godush and brother Jim Godush.
