John's Obituary
John Michael Ferry, age 69, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 31, 1955, to Thomas and Frances (Greene) Ferry in Dowagiac, Michigan. On August
18, 1979, he married the love of his life, the former Patty Ann Vanderlin. They spent 44 years together.
John loved animals and the outdoors. He treasured any and all time he could spend on the family farm in Eau Claire. Music was a passion that drove him to open his own retail store, Kazoo Audio-Video. John was a huge Michigan State Spartan fan (Go Green!). Most of all, John cherished time spent with family.
John is survived by his wife, Patty Ferry; daughters, Jennifer and Elizabeth Ferry; siblings, Tom (Susie) Ferry, Tim Ferry, Jim Ferry, and Peggy (Paul) Bailey; brothers-in-law, Mark (Karen) Vanderlin, Garry (Diane) Vanderlin, and Dave (Bonnie) Vanderlin; and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, & great-nephews. John was preceded in death by twin sons, David and Daniel Ferry; parents, Frances and Thomas Ferry; and parents-in-law, David and Joyce Vanderlin.
Visitation with John’s family will take place on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at The Starks and Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, Michigan 49085. Mass of Christian Burial for John will take place on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 51841 Leach Road, Dowagiac, Michigan 49047. Memorial contributions in John’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
