Jeffery “Jeff” Lakey, 52, of Lawton, MI passed away Thursday, March 23, 2023 in Battle Creek, MI.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 P.M., Friday, March 31, 2023 at Heritage Chapel and Cremation Service, 8747 US 31, Berrien Springs, MI with pastor Mike Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Ruggles Cemetery in Baroda. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the family in c/o Chaning Lakey. Those wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at www.heritage-chapel.com.
Jeff was born May 9, 1970 in St. Joseph, MI to James and Diane (Riske) Lakey. Jeff was a truck driver for many years and enjoyed traveling all over the United States. In his spare time, he enjoyed listening to music especially classic rock and heavy metal. He also enjoyed going swimming in Lake Michigan.
Jeff is survived by his mother Diane (Tom) Baker; father James Lakey; daughters Chaning (Randy Wheaton) Lakey and Karey (Jesse) Dengate; grandchildren Lola Wheaton, Luciana Wheaton, unborn grandson, Ashley Dengate, Aubree Dengate, Ivy Dengate and Layla Dengate; brothers Jimmy (Silvia) Lakey, Gary Baker and Nick Baker; and many nieces and nephews.
Jeff was preceded in death by his grandma Rayella Riske; and sister-in-law Stephanie Baker.
