Jeffrey J. Howey, 66, of Cassopolis, passed away Thursday morning, October 26, 2023 at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born on February 11, 1957 in South Bend, IN, the son of Harold Howey and Naomi (Penrod) Slabaugh. On October 26, 1986, Jeff was united in marriage to Brenda L. Redman. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Jeff owned several Harley-Davidson motorcycles and enjoyed restoring and painting them regularly. He was an avid gardener who loved to grow more than he needed so he could share with his family and friends.
Surviving are his wife of 37 years – Brenda Howey; son – Travis Howey; step-daughter – Stephanie (Jason) Horton; two granddaughters – Madison and Leah Howey; brother – Gary (Cindy) Howey; two sisters – Sue (Tim) Ayers and Shari Hamrick; and step-brother – Kenny Howey.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and step-sister – Bobbi Howey.
Honoring Jeff’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no public visitation or service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Clark Chapel – Starks Family Funeral Homes, Dowagiac. Those wishing to share a memory of Jeff online may do so at www.clarkch.com.
