Janet's Obituary
Janet Woltman, 68 of Wausau, WI formally of St. Joseph passed away Saturday, October 1, 2022, in Florida.
A celebration will be held in Janet’s honor on October 21st, 2022 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Family and friends may visit from 11am to 1pm, with a service to follow at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Berrien County Animal Control. Janet’s life began on October 18, 1953, in Berwyn, IL to the parents of Sam (Salvator) & Lorraine (Ritzenthaler) Vivardo. Janet lived a rich life; full of love, a successful career, two daughters she was very proud of, and plethora of family activities she planned and organized. She was able to retire from the State of Michigan where she dedicated 30+ years of service to the Department of Health and Human Services. In a loving intimate ceremony on the bluff of Lake Michigan in St Joeseph, Janet married Chuck Woltman on July 31, 2010.
Janet was loving, hardworking, and selfless, shown daily by her dedication to her husband, children, grandchildren, and mother, whom she cared for. She was always ready for the next adventure with her children and grandchildren, whether that was helping with a move from NY to IN, Washington DC to WI, or taking a long weekend getaway to the Wisconsin Dells to swim and play in the Water Parks she was there. Janet enjoyed baking cakes and cookies, playing boardgames, and doing crafts with her grandchildren. She also relished downtime with her girls’, scheduling pedicures when time allowed. Some other favorite things included planting flowers in the spring, spending time with her dog Ranger, shopping, visiting the casino, and having a book club with her daughter. Janet will be forever missed by her family and friends with an emptiness present in their souls now that she is gone.
Janet is survived by her mother, Lorraine Vivardo; husband Chuck Woltman; daughters, April Freehling and Erin Milnikel, Erin’s husband, Daryll whom Janet raised since he was young and considered a son; sons Chad Woltman and Adam Woltman; grandchildren Kanden Milnikel, Jaxton Milnikel and Calista Currier; sister Joan (Jeff) Pauly; and brother Sam (Terri)Vivardo. Janet was preceded in death by her father, Sam Vivardo.
