Jan was born July 12, 1953 in St. Joseph, Michigan to Larry & Carol (Odell) Smith. She graduated from Lakeshore High School, Class of 1971. Jan dedicated her life to caring for her family, and later, to her work. She was employed for twenty plus years at St. Joseph Catholic High School in South Bend. Jan attended all of her children’s school & sporting events. She was known for her great sense of humor, her outgoing personality and her love of animals. She will greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Jan is survived by her children-Jessie Schrock of Altoona, Iowa, & Joshua (Kristin) Reichert of South Bend; her mother Carol Dorgelo of St. Joseph; and her brother Bradley Smith of Mishawaka. She was preceded in death by her son Dustin Faultersak, her father Larry Smith, and her brother Gene Douglas “Doug” Smith.
