Jim's Obituary

James E. “Jim” Wagner, 78, of St. Joseph, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023, at his home.

Jim was born on December 8, 1944, to Walter & June (Conklin) Wagner in Benton Harbor. He attended Benton Harbor High School before he voluntarily enlisted in the United State Army. He served his country from 1962 until he was honorably discharged in 1965. After he returned home, he began working for Whirlpool Co. in their maintenance department and retired after 42 years of service. On July 11, 1975, Jim married the love of his life Terry Johnson in St. Joseph. Jim was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing in his golf league at Indian Lake Hills Golf Course. He also enjoyed playing pool at the St. Joseph Lincoln Senior Center. His most treasured time was spent with his family, especially when he was supporting his granddaughter Madison at her softball game or orchestra concerts.

Jim is survived by his wife of 47 years Terry Wagner; daughter Jaimee (Daniel) Jones of St. Joseph; granddaughter Madison Jones of St. Joseph; and brothers, Art Wagner of St. Joseph and Walter (Joyce) Wagner of Grand Rapids.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Walter & June Wagner.
