James's Obituary

James “Jim” Robert Jr passed away February 5,2023 at his home.
A graveside service will take place in May with details made available to close friends and family. Jim will be laid to rest with his wife, and son.

He was born to James Robert Sr & Ora Parish on 12/31/1941 in Dowagiac,MI.
He was always such a hard worker from a young age, providing for himself, and his wife and family. He married the love of his life Judy, on 6/17/1960. They went on to have three children.

Jim worked at Tyler Refrigeration for many years before retiring. He loved to race and work on stock cars, hunt, fish, smoke meats, can pickles and other foods, and was the best maple syrup maker around.

He also had a great love for his grandkids, spending a lot of time with them. He hardly ever missed sporting events, showing up in the big red truck. He also loved to spend time up north at the cabin, out in his woods, butcher shop, and traveling out west with Judy and their friends.

He will be forever loved and missed, but is now at peace with his wife, and children that had passed whom he missed so much.

Jim is survived by his daughter Kim (Adam) Lawrence. Grandchildren Mandy ( Dave) Elkins, Tyler ( Emily) Parish, Parker Parish, Celine Lawrence, Tony Harrington, and great grandson Nash Elkins.

Jim is preceded in death by his son James Kirk Parish, daughter Kelly Schieber, and his parents.

Jim’s family would like to give a special thank you to Hospice, and the caregivers who helped care for him in his home.
