James F. “Jim” Thompson, 76, passed away at Pine Ridge Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Stevensville, on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, where he had been living for a few years. Jim passed away due to complications from Covid 19.
James was born on October 19, 1945, to Hal & Bernice (Van Court) Thompson in St. Joseph. He was a proud lifelong member of the beautiful community of St. Joseph.
One of Jim’s passions was the St. Joseph-Benton Harbor Elks #541 of which he was a member for 53 years and was the Exalted Ruler from 1982 to 1983.
Jim was preceded in death by his parent Hal Stroud Thompson & Bernice Selma (Van Court) Thompson and his twin brother Robert Hal Thompson. Jim’s wishes were to be cremated. He will be laid to rest in Riverview Cemetery next to his parents.
An Elks memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at 5PM, at the St. Joseph- Benton Harbor Elks #541, 601 Riverview Dr., Benton Harbor.
