Irmgard's Obituary
A celebration of life service will be held at 6:30 pm on Friday, August 5, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph (Rev. Robert Confer). Family visitation will be held prior to the service at the funeral home from 4:30-6:30 pm. A private family burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery on Saturday August 6. Irmgard Grete was born Oct. 10, 1930, in Oberschleifen, Germany, to Karl and Emma (Schinske) Friedrich. On April 13, 1952, she married Franz Ewald Froeschke in Hamburg, Germany. The family immigrated to the United States in January 1954, settling in St. Joseph. Irmgard was a devoted and exemplary homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and servant of Christ. She assisted with the family owned and operated rental businesses. Irmgard and her late husband, Franz were active members of the Washington Ave. Church of God before joining First Church of God in St. Joseph, active in senior ministries, adult sunday school classes, as well as prayer and benevolence ministries.
Irmgard is survived by three sons Harry (Robin) Froeschke of Fort Worth, Texas; Norbert (Tammy) Froeschke of Clarkston, Mich., Ronald (Laura) Froeschke of Carpentersville, Ill.; her son-in-law, Jack Luderer of Rochester, NY, and five grandchildren and three step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Franz Ewald (Dec.10, 2017), daughter Monica Olga Luderer, (Jan. 11, 2016); and brothers Fritz and Kurt Friedrich.
