Irene's Obituary
Irene Riemland, 92, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at Corewell Health Lakeland in St. Joseph.
Irene was born September 14, 1931 in St. Joseph, MI to Carl & Erna (Adam) Czirr. On August 13, 1949 she married Walter “Walt” Riemland at St. Peter’s Church in St. Joseph. They were married for 72 years until his passing in 2021. Irene worked for Goldblatt’s and Zenith Corporation retiring as their Credit Manager. Irene had a passion and love for gardening and enjoyed going to all the garden centers in the area. Everyone knew her as the lady with all the flowers. She also enjoyed hosting many parties especially during the holidays and card games with friends and family.
Irene is survived by her son Kurt Riemland; grandchildren Julie (John) Gorsuch, Brian (Teri) Riemland, Wendy Tarantino and Shannon (Michael) Myers; 10 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; son-in-law Neil Johnson; nephew Richard Lemire; and many nieces and nephews. The family would also like to extend a big thank you to all of Irenes neighbors for there support and help over the years.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughters Carla Johnson and Renee McBain; and siblings Sigfried Czirr, Elsie Johns and Hala Ball.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Service. Those wishing to share a memory online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com
