Ike's Obituary
Ike was born on October 26, 1924, in Benton Township to Emil & Natalie (Schultz) Eichler. He graduated in 1943 from Benton Harbor High School before enlisting in the United States Army. He proudly served his country until he was honorably discharged. On February 14, 1947, Ike married the love of his life Joyce Kelly in Crown Point, IN. He worked for I & M as a Lineman Manager for over 39 years before retirement.
Ike was often found building different things around the house and woodworking. He was a member of FOP 96, Elks 541, American Legion 568 and the Southwest Michigan Car Club. Ike loved traveling with his wife, but his most cherished time was spent with his family.
Ike is survived by his wife of 76 years Joyce Eichler; children, Pamela (Michael) Jennings of Berrien Springs and Patirica (Mark) Frego of Brighton, MI; grandchildren, Christopher (Kylee) Frego, Michael (Courtney) Kuelbs, and Matthew (Joyce) Frego; nine great-grandchildren; and son-in-law Donald Kuelbs. Ike was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Nanette Kuelbs; and siblings, Lawrence Eichler, Arthur Eichler and Irene Gray. Arrangements have been entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 269-556-9450.
