Gordon's Obituary
Gordon Leroy Schram, age 87, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023. He was born on April 13, 1936 to Irvin and Nora in Detroit, Michigan.
Visitation with Gordon’s family will take place on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Starks and Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd. St. Joseph, MI 49085. A funeral service for Gordon will take place on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Trinity Lutheran Church (609 Court St.) at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery. Gordon and Elaine were able to celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on October 4. Gordon was an avid hockey fan and played hockey until he was 85. He was an avid golfer and incredible baseball player, and was invited to try out with the Cleveland Indians while he was in high school. He was a successful business owner who worked hard to make his own way building a chain of card and camera stores. He was a proud Army veteran. He loved to travel and owned a cottage in northern Michigan where he enjoyed golfing, fishing, and spending time with family. Gordon also liked to tell a story or two which often would last a little too long. He was a proud and loving grandfather. But above all, he was a man of faith and loved his family.
Gordon is survived by his loving wife, Elaine Schram; sons, Steve Schram (Teresa Uemura), Tim (Laura) Schram; grandsons, Luke and Nate Schram; and brothers, Jerry (Ruth) Schram, Ron (Becky) Schram. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother Ken (Donna) Schram.
