Gerald Eugene Petzke, 87 of Baroda, MI passed away on Tuesday April 25, 2023 at his home surrounded by family. Burial has taken place. Gerald was born on August 14, 1935 in St. Joseph to George and Frieda (Ehlert) Petzke. He graduated from Berrien Springs High School and continued his education receiving an Associates Degree from Lake Michigan College. He served his country proudly in the National Guard from 1959 to 1964. Gerald married Katheryn Blaisdell on May 7, 1960 in Stevensville, MI. Gerald was a grape farmer for Welch’s for many years with his brother. He also worked for over 25 years for Auto Specialties and continued his career as a truck driver for B & B trucking where he retired.
Gerald’s family was the center of his world. He and Kathy traveled the United States but most enjoyed taking his grandchildren along on their travels sharing Yellow Stone, the Black Hills, Niagara Fall and Mt Rushmore. Gerald enjoyed attending all of his grandchildren’s sporting events. Gerald always loved watching the Cubs and playing euchre.
Gerald is survived by his wife Katheryn, children; Connie (Mark) Wade, Sandra (Matthew) Allan, Michael (Theresa) Petzke, grandchildren; Jacob Allan, Sam Allan, Kaitlyn (Evan) Keil, Nick Wade, Mason Petzke and Derek Petzke, brother George (Julie) Petzke. He was preceded by his parents George & Frieda Petzke.
