Georgia's Obituary

Georgia A. Sikich, 85, of Benton Harbor, passed away on January 30, 2023 at Caretel Inns St. Joseph, in the presence of close friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 7, at 11 AM at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 555 E. Delaware St., Benton Harbor, with Father James Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Monday, February 6, from 5 PM until 7 PM at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorial contributions may be made to St Bernard Catholic Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Those wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.

Georgia was born on January 29, 1938, in Rome, GA to George & Anna (Blasovich) Sikich, as her parents were returning to Hartford from a Florida vacation. She graduated from Hartford High School in 1955 and continued her education by attending Lake Michigan College where she earned an associates in business. She began her career at Whirlpool Corporation in 1957, working primarily in Sales & Marketing until her retirement in 1997. Georgia returned to Whirlpool and worked on the switchboard from 2000 to 2019. Georgia was a proud member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hartford, where she was their organist for many years. She was a member of Whirlpool Leaders and The Whirlpool Golden Eagles. She enjoyed watching and cheering on the Chicago White Sox and going out to restaurants with her friends.

Georgia is survived by many cousins who live across the country, as well as many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, George & Anna.
