Gail's Obituary

Gail J. Moniot, 83, formerly of St. Joseph, passed away, Friday, March 11, 2022 at Diversicare Health & Rehabilitation Center in Foley, Alabama.

A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held 12:00 P.M. Friday, April 15, 2022 at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Friends may visit with the Family from 10:45 – 11:45 A.M. Gail was born September 19, 1938 in St. Joseph to Orville & Dora (Reich) Mundt. She graduated from St. Joseph High School, Class of 1956. On August 4, 1962, she married Irwin “Bud” Moniot in St. Joseph. Gail devoted her life to caring for her household and her family. She was a member of Pioneer Seventh-day Adventist Church in Berrien Springs. Gail devoted her life to her family. She spent many years as her elderly parent’s caregiver and also attending her daughter’s sporting events. She also spent many summers with her husband Bud boating on Lake Michigan. Later in life, Gail enjoyed helping take care of her grandchildren and eventually being able to attend their sporting events. When her daughter’s family moved to Gulf Shores, Alabama a few years ago, she had the privilege to move south with them to warm and beautiful Gulf Shores.

Gail is survived by her daughter Shelly (Chad) Sharkey of Gulf Shores, Alabama; and three grandchildren-Halee, Ethan & Garrett Sharkey. She was preceded in death by her husband Bud on September 30, 2007, and her parents, and her brother Daryl Mundt in Texas.
