Frances C. “Cheri” Collins, 72, of Hartford, passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2021. Arrangements are entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Chapel. A private family service has already taken place. Those wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.
Cheri was born on September 28, 1949, in St. Joseph to Cletus and Patricia (Munjoy) Beckman. She graduated from Lakeshore High School in 1968. She worked at State Tool Factory as an assembly line worker. During her younger years, Cheri enjoyed bowling and playing softball. When she was older, she liked playing Bingo, trying her luck at the casino and scratch off lotto tickets. Known for her skills at bargain shopping, Cheri could be found at Goodwill shopping for herself, friends and family. She was a proud fan of the Detroit Lions and the Chicago Cubs and was a lifelong collector of all things Coca-Cola brand. What gave her the most joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Cheri is survived by her son, William (Erika) Collins of Coloma; grandchildren, Shawn (Jessica), Brendan (Demi), Ethan, Ari, Allen, Alyssa, and Andrew; great-grandchildren, Charli Quinn, Jordyn, Charlie, Ke-von, and Aria; siblings, Phillip Beckman, Janice Schaub, Cindy (Tom) Murdoch, and Ricky Beckman; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Tonya Collins.
