Evelyn's Obituary
On April 28, 1956, she married her best friend and love of her life, Ronald Keigley, and they spent 67 loving years together. To this union, she had two daughters and one son.
After graduating from Benton Harbor High School in 1952, she worked for the V-M Corporation for six years. While her kids were in school, she offered her assistance to the Berrien Springs Middle School principal who needed administrative help for the remainder of the school year. Evelyn turned that brief stint into a loving and caring 23 years of service as a secretary for the school system.
She liked keeping busy and was involved for many years as a 4H leader, worked on the Berrien Springs Blossom Queen Committee, volunteered for 45 years at Lakeland Specialty Hospital and volunteered for Berrien County Youth Fair. She was a Charter member of the Berrien Springs Area Endowment, former member of Berrien Springs Civic League, and a member and officer of St. Paul’s Ladies Aid Society, her lifelong church, where she also acted for a time as the organist.
During the summer she enjoyed working in her yard and flower garden. The winters were spent doing puzzles with her daughters or whoever stopped by. She also loved to shop, golf and spend time with family and friends. She always made holidays and birthdays special for everyone. She enjoyed traveling and family vacations with her children and grandchildren.
Evelyn is survived by her beloved husband, Ronald Keigley; children, Christine (Lawrence) Dow, Kathleen (John) Jasper, Keith (Tonya) Keigley; grandchildren, Lindsay (Michael) Wipperman, Stacy (Rob) White, Matthew (Bobilyn) Jasper, Michael (Jessica) Jasper, Kasey (Danielle) Keigley, Jessica (Jon) Hanson; great grandchildren, Alaina and Troy Wipperman, Davis and Dylan White, Holland Jasper, Gatlan Jasper, Brady, Ashton and Owen Keigley, Collins and Bryn Hanson.
She is also survived by her sisters, Helen (Morrie) Vandenburg and Virginia Kruck, sister-in-law, Jean Froehlich, Connie Froehlich, Eunice Froehlich; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Frederick, Robert and Vernon Froehlich.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in her memory can be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Berrien Springs Area Endowment or the Berrien County Youth Fair Home Economic Department.
