Evie's Obituary
Evelyn “Evie” Marie Geresy Adams, 54, of Keeler, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, January 13, at 2 PM at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Burial will follow at Keeler Cemetery. Evie was born on May 22, 1968, in St. Joseph, to Louis & Melinda “Sue” (Crouse) Geresy. She graduated from Grace Christian High School in 1986 and continued her education by attending Liberty University and Belmont University to study education. Following her time at college, she began working as a preschool teacher for Tri-County Head Start. She was there for about 10 more years until she had her daughter, Emily. She loved her family and considered being a mother the highlight of her life. She was loved and adored by her daughter, her family, and all who knew her. She had a beautiful, warm heart and a love for animals. In addition to her three cats at home (Spicy, Prince, Yuka), she also set up shelters for the stray cats in the neighborhood and always made sure they were warm and fed. She loved caring for her house, swimming in her pool, and gardening in her yard with her mother, Sue.
Evelyn is survived by her mom, Sue Geresy; daughter, Emily (fiancé, Shelby Whitaker); and siblings, Kim (Peter) Pozivilko, Becky (Frankie) Hinson, Lou Geresy, and her nieces and nephews (David, Katie, Ashley, Courtney, Zach). She was preceded in death by her dad, Louis Geresy.
