Emily's Obituary
Emily D. Bridges, 53, of Louisville, KY passed away on August 18, 2024, at Holland Hospital. She was born on June 27, 1971, in Chicago, IL to the late James and Hannah (Rollinson) Bridges.
Private services were held at the Filbrandt Chapel followed by cremation.
After receiving her associate’s degree in culinary arts, she began a career in the restaurant industry and worked for Walmart.
Emily is survived by her children; Akilya Porter, Albert, Rovan, and Raaheim Bridges; One
Granddaughter; Nasirah Porter; and 3 siblings; Vanessa Price, Darlethie Payne, and Tommie Bridges. She is preceded in death by her first grandson; Carmykael Akhil Porter, brothers; Richard and Jeffery Bridges. Her Best friends were Tina Smith Whitfield and Jeannate Jabang. Emily was also an unforgettable friend, sister, auntie, niece and cousin to a lot of family members. She will be missed dearly.
Please understand her life was not complete, or full without the love, and care from her Godmother, and Aunt Darlene Moragne. Also the friendship from cousins; Hope and George Hasan, Coco and Kevin Howard, and her niece Charquara Moragne-Kaoma to just name a few.
She spent her life being the best mother to her children and proactive in the lives of so many family members. She was the God mother to Kashawn Price, Taleah Howard, Aaleiah Winford, and Quientin Howard.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Filbrandt Chapel of Starks Family Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 269-637-0333.
