Elva enjoyed gardening, camping, scrapbooking, cooking, shopping, and telling Vern what to do. She was a devoted wife. Elva and Vern worked to build a family and life they always wanted. They had many adventures together and loved being around family and friends.

Elva was very proud of her sons and their achievements. She always let people know how they were doing. Elva was always there for Craig and Jason for guidance, words of encouragement, or a kick in the pants when needed. She always looked forward to family gatherings where her sons and their families would be together with her and Vern.

Elva’s joy was found in spending time with her grandkids, creating beautiful memories that will forever be treasured. She was her grandkids’ biggest cheerleader and their constant source of support. She made sure she knew their schedules for the week so she and Vern could be at as many activities as possible.

Beyond her role as a devoted grandmother, Elva was one of the toughest people around. In face of adversity, she displayed immense strength, and never allowed life’s challenges to define her spirit. Her courage was an inspiration to her children, grandchildren, and all who knew of her struggles, reminding us to face life’s obstacles head-on with unwavering determination.

Elva’s love knew no bounds, extending far beyond the boundaries of our immediate family. Her compassion touched the lives of many, and her generosity knew no limits. She was a pillar of support for friends and strangers alike, always extending a helping hand or a listening ear to those in need.

Elva will be dearly missed by her husband of 48 years, Vern Fisher; sons, Craig (Karla) Fisher, and Jason (Mary) Fisher; her grandchildren, Aidan, Rylan, Leah, Hudson, David, Daniel and Renner; her siblings, George (Wendy) Whaley, and Jill Whaley; in-laws, Ruth Shuler, Clyde Fisher (Pattie), and Tom Fisher (Rhonda); many nieces and nephews, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Peggy Lee; and her parents, Pauline (Brower) Lowery and George Whaley, Sr., and stepmother, Sandy Whaley; sister-in-laws Delores Rogalski and Virginia Boakes; brother-in-laws Lee Shuler and Everett Boakes.
