Elliot Chandler affectionately called “Ricky” was born February 24, 1954 to Elmer and Marie Chandler in Chicago, Illinois. Ricky attended grammar school and high school in Chicago. He became a young father to three boys Lorenzo, Dajuan, and Terrance. Ricky later moved to South Haven, Michigan and it became his new home. Ricky was big on family, he enjoyed spending time with his siblings and doing things like barbecuing, riding motorcycles, and going to the beach. Ricky was a friendly outgoing guy who loved to talk and knew everybody. Later in life Ricky found Christ and became an active member of Trinity Baptist Church of Covert, Michigan. Ricky- a fighter no matter what challenges came his way he never gave up.
Ricky transitioned from this life on February 15, 2022. He was Preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Marie Chandler, siblings Clifford Chandler and Revella Armstrong. He leaves to cherish his memory: Sons, Lorenzo (Tamika Mobley) Chandler, DaJuan (Ketorah) Chandler, and Terrance Jones. Siblings Ozzie (Shirlean) Chandler, Jeff (Darece) Chandler, and Ollietha Mosley. Five grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
One thing we will always remember about Ricky is his smile and kind heart.
A Wake for Ricky will be at Trinity Baptist Church on Saturday February 26 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Drey Love will officiate.
