Lana's Obituary
Elaine Susan Gold of Lakeside, Michigan
While family and her longtime friends called her by her given name, most knew her as Lana. Lana was a woman who left every room better than she found it; the same may be said about those graced by her gorgeous presence. She had a laugh that suggested a deep knowing and a smile that hinted at a good secret that she couldn’t wait to tell you. Lana lived a life in which she offered kindness first, loyalty and generosity of spirit to a fault, and a seemingly effortless ability to recognize and cultivate beauty. In cooking and baking, there was no one better. Truly, Lana was a woman with whom we all wanted to keep talking, laughing, drinking, and eating. To sit near Lana was to know the feeling of being treasured, and there are not enough words here, or anywhere, to convey our sorrow. To know Lana was to instantly, endlessly love her, and we did. Her memory will now be our greatest blessing.
Preceded in death by her parents, John and Ruth Seman of Cleveland, and her darling daughter Melissa Russo of Cleveland. Lana leaves behind her bereaved and inconsolable husband of 25 years, Tom and her daughter Sophie, who was the light, pride, and joy of her life of Lakeside, MI; her older sister Bonnie Pinkert from whom she was inseparable and will be forever entwined; her dear brother-in-law Ralph Pinkert (Scottsdale, AZ) and their son Zach, his wife Nicole and their daughters Lyla and Sloane; her dearest friend of 45 years Nan Oosterhaudt; the Giancaspro family; the Goldberg family; her devoted dog Alfie; her loving cat Remy; and too many who loved her to list.
