Alice "Elaine"'s Obituary
A Celebration of Life service will take place on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Starks and Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Pastor Steven Bisbee officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family beginning one hour prior to the service. Those wishing to leave an online condolence for Elaine may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Elaine was born on September 7, 1927, to Ingvar and Edith (Johnson) Anderson in Rockford, Illinois. It was there that she met the love of her life, Loren Fry. They were married for 67 years. While Loren was the outdoor adventurer and eventually cowboy of the Western ranges, Elaine was the support and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who held things together on the homefront at their home in Benton Harbor. Her love for family, a cozy home, and the simple life leaves a lasting legacy for each of her family members.
Elaine is survived by her children, Laura (Chuck) Kohler, Linda Cardenas (Dave Smith), Mark (Jenny) Fry, Lance Fry (Debbie Everett); grandchildren, Matt (Emily) Kohler, Brett (Jodi) Kohler, Adrienne (Brad) Reisig, Justin (Jill) Cardenas, Arianne (Chad) Fizzell, Brianne (Tom) Van Hekken, Alina (Andy) Van Hekken, Colin (Jess) Fry, Steven Fry; great grandchildren, Megan, Logan, Ashlyn, Dylan, Alissa, Josie, Cash, Vivian, Miles, Charley, Jack, Ada, Arrissa, Brooklyn, and Chloe.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Loren Fry; grandchild, Chris Fry; and great grandchild, Wyatt Fizzell.
