Babe was born and raised in St. Joseph to Gustav & Edith (Ciofi) Baldaccini, and was well known for the part she played in the community. After graduating from St. Joseph High School, Class of 1940, she married Alan Puffer in Santa Barbara, California in 1943. She returned to St. Joseph where she raised their daughter, after Alan was killed in WWII. In 1950, Babe married Benjamin Lutz, and they were blessed with four more children.

Babe had many passions besides her children and grandchildren. Number one was shopping, which she was always up for! She loved sewing, knitting and was an avid reader, and had a love for travel which originated from her early childhood. Babe loved card games of any sort, especially Bridge, accumulating master points. She had a very competitive spirit, loved to golf and bowl and was always up for anything.

Babe was an original member of Café Tosi’s Church Ladies which she attended every day and was a life-long member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Edith leaves behind her five children-Barbara (Gary) Hosbein, Robert (Debora) Lutz, Christina (Michael) Davis, Joanne (Sterling) Schrock, Jacqueline Forestieri; fourteen grandchildren-Stephanie (Robert) Burch, Heidi (Dana) Hosbein-Skidmore, Carrie (Christopher) Adams, Gordon (JulieAnna) Hosbein, Claire Lutz, Kelsey (Scott) Christie, Erica (James) Burge, Rachel (Nicholas) Handran, Ellen (Tyler) Kersjes, Madeline Schrock Benjamin (Mikal) Forestieri, Dominic Forestieri, Angela Forestieri, Lucia Forestieri; sixteen great-grandchildren-Ashlee, Avery, Riley & Annabelle Adams, Drew, Luke & Eleah Headstrom, Gordon, Samantha & Benjamin Hosbein, Nora, Torin & Theron Peplinski, Baby Girl Handran-due in August, Theia Kersjes & Birdie Forestieri. Babe’s family would like to thank Woodland Terrace in Bridgman for their loving care to their mother and the support they extended to the family.
