Life Reflections of Eddie Junior Burton
Eddie was born to the union of Eddie Lee and Ossie Burton on February 13th 1955. He attended Covert Public Schools from kindergarten through the graduating class of 1973. Eddie was a member of the School Board at Covert Schools from July 1992-June 2010. He was a trustee and a member of the Covert foundation board.
Eddie worked at Auto Specialties from 1973 until 1978 when the plant closed. He started employment for MDOT in 1979 and dedicated thirty years before retiring in 2009. In 1999 Eddie placed second as the driver of the year award for MDOT. In the years 2000 and 2002 he also placed second in the Southwest Region Snowplow Rodeo Championship.
Eddie accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at First Baptist Church in Covert Michigan.
Eddie Burton and Phyllis Like were united in Holy Matrimony July 21, 1975 and dedicated their lives to each other and their children for forty six and half years. Eddie was a strong family man who loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He also enjoyed bike riding, playing baseball and basketball with his sons.
Eddie was preceded in death by his father Eddie Lee Burton and his mother Ossie Burton, a daughter Michelle Burton, a sister Mary Prewitt, three brothers James, Joseph, and Harold Edward.
Eddie leaves to cherish his wife Phyllis, sons Eddie (Helen) Burton, Ramon (Starsha) Burton, Julian (Sheila) Burton, and Jaron (Latisha) Burton. Eighteen grandchildren, two and a half great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
Special thanks to Felicia Prewitt for all that she has done for Eddie during his illness. She was truly his earthly angel.
