Douglas's Obituary

Douglas “Doug” Wayne Fannin, 54, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at his home in Millburg. He was born January 6, 1967 to Jerry Wayne and Jean Fannin.

Doug’s family will receive guests from 10am until time of celebration of life service at 12pm, Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Lifegate Baptist Church, 2890 South Park Rd., Eau Claire or the Humane Society, www.humanesocietyswm.org.

Doug was a C.N.C programmer. He spent many years at New Products, Semins, Vickers, South Shore and was currently employed at Amhawk in Coloma. He loved his family, church family, and many friends. His dog, Lucy, was his true love; she was spoiled and only had eyes for him. They were a good team, and he missed her dearly when she passed. He had been looking forward to getting a new dog, when the time was right. Doug liked motorcycles and cars, especially old classics. He enjoyed hunting and golfing, and even got to celebrate a hole in one! He was a Green Bay Packers and Chicago Cubs fan. He was looking forward to making his grandma Fannin’s famous cornbread this year for Thanksgiving.

Doug loved spending time with family and friends and will be dearly missed by his mother, Jean Fannin; his brother, Darrin (Jennifer) Fannin; his uncles, Mike (Chris) Rutherford, Steve (Brenda) Rutherford, Steve (Carolyn) Fannin, Gary Fannin; his aunt, Roxie Gunn; and several cousins.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jerry Wayne Fannin; his uncles, Robert Nunley and Jim Nunley; his cousin, Tina Rutherford; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
