Doris's Obituary

Doris L (Schroeder) Case, 82, of Sodus, went to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, February 21, 2022 at the Hanson Hospice Center, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous two-year battle with cancer.

Doris was born on July 6, 1939 to Ervin and Margaret (Hinz) Schroeder. She was a lifelong resident of Sodus, graduating from Benton High School in 1957 and proudly representing Sodus when she was crowned Miss Sodus in 1958. After graduation, Doris worked for Sodus Fruit Exchange/Wilderness Foods for over thirty years at the front desk. If you called the processing plant, her friendly voice would transfer you to your party.

Doris married the love of her life, Harry Case, on September 26, 1959 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sodus, where she was baptized and confirmed. Together they raised their two children.

Doris was active in many groups, she was an active member in the church’s Ladies Aid group, serving meals at many church functions. She and Harry are life members of the DANK, where you would find them at the Wednesday meal nights and helping with the monthly Fish Fry’s. Doris enjoyed attending the Sodus School Reunions and meeting up monthly with her high school classmates. She enjoyed spending time and took many road trips with the Corvette Coventry and Southwestern Michigan Car Collectors. In 2012 Doris was the 22nd overall inductee in to the Blossomtime Queen Sorority. She was also active touring the county with past queens. However, the most important thing to Doris was being able to spend time with her family.

She is survived by Harry, her husband of 62 years, her two children: Son Kevin (Brenda) Case of South Bend and their children Patrick (Lyndsey) Conner and Katie (John) Mills and great granddaughter Emma, and daughter Tamera (Gregory) Wolske. Her brother Ronald (Paula) Schroeder, sister Margaret (David) Froehlich Sr, brother-in-law Randy (Dee) Case and nieces and nephews, Mark, Lisa, Teri and David Jr. to cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and older brother, Norman.
