Dora's Obituary
Dora Jean Baldauf passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023 at Hanson Hospice in Stevensville. She was born, the oldest of 4 children, on October 5, 1932, to Rudolph and Lena Krueger.
Visitation for Dora will be held Friday, July 28, 2023 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 718 Arbor Ct. South Haven, Michigan, from 10 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 11 a.m. Pastor Stephen Daley will officiate.
Dora leaves behind her children Garth (Iris) Baldauf and Sharon Richter., granddaughter Audrey Baldauf and siblings, Olga Stieve, Joyce Rantz and Jordan Gallagher.
Dora married Ludwig “Gus” Baldauf on October 17, 1953. Together they had two children, Garth and Sharon. Dora and Gus celebrated 69 years of marriage on October 17, 2022. Gus was called to his eternal heavenly home on October 30, 2022.
Dora was a stay-at-home mom while her children were young. When they were in school full time, she worked at various jobs in town, these included being a teacher’s aide, working at Golden Brown Bakery, Restwood Nursing Home (South Haven Rehab), Bohn Aluminum and she was a waitress at Holly’s in her early years. She was active in her congregation of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran in South Haven, where she taught Sunday school and was in the church choir. She and Gus raised their children in the strong truths of God’s word.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to St. Paul Evangelical Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Filbrandt Chapel-Starks Family Funeral Homes and Cremation Services. 269-637-0333.
