Donna's Obituary

Donna Belle (Post) Klug, 97, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 18, 2022 in her assisted living room at Provision Living in St. Joseph.

Donna was born on March 15, 1925 in Lake Township, MI to Raymond Post and Louise (Shermack) Post of Bridgman, MI.

Donna graduated from Bridgman High School.

Donna Married Arthur F. “Art” Klug on April 6, 1942 at the Trinity Lutheran Church by Pastor Nuechterlein.

On March 10, 1944 Donna, enlisted in the United States Cadet Nurses Corps.

Donna, along with Yvonne Poziwilko (who eventually married Donna’s brother, Duane Post) attended the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. The nursing courses were at the Benton Harbor Junior College. Donna earned her degree in the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing on September 20, 1946.

Donna received her Michigan Board of Registration of Nurses, RN, in 1948.

Donna became a communicant member of the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod, St. Joseph, MI on April 10, 1949.

Donna left her RN profession to raise her family and her help her husband start his business, known as Glenlord Home Center. In fact, Donna and Art raised three children, Kathy, Vickie and Tom and then 12 years later started raising their second son, Kirt, until their respective adulthood.

Donna and Art enjoyed 62 wonderful years of marriage until Art’s death on September 1, 2008.

Donna is survived by her daughter Kathy Ann Garlow of Mission Viejo, CA and two sons, Thomas (Nancy) Arthur Klug of Okemos, MI and Kirt (Christine) Douglas Klug of Eau Claire, MI; nine grandchildren Jami Michelle Bowman, Joelle Marie Bowman, Michelle (Devin) Leigh Shaw, Thomas Arthur Klug II, Christopher (Lisa) Martin Klug, Jeffrey (Lindsey) Douglas Klug, Caitlin (Wayne) Elizabeth Davis, Colin (Brooke) Andrew Klug and Valessa (Hunter) Markarian; twelve great-grandchildren Chloe Bree Klug, Maxwell Ryan Klug, Emilia Marie Klug, Elleah Taylor Shaw, Weston Lee Shaw, Kaylee Ana Shaw, Hallie Belle Davis, Jolee Lynn Davis, Tanner Allen Davis, Nash Alan Klug Cameron Markarian and Vyvienne Markarian; her two sisters-in-law, Lenora Klug and Loretta Hiemstra; several nieces and nephews including, James (Debbie) Osterman, Michael Osterman, Ted Post (DJ), Jill Post and Diane (Gil) Rau, Charles (Victoria) E. Klug JR., Cindy (Steve) Schlecth, Patty Klug, Candance J. (Dirk) Van Galder, Laura J. Hiemstra, Dawn M. (Tom) Blum, Beverly Gould, Peter Fister, Pam Anton and three step-grandchildren Michael (Tracy) Christensen, Paul (Jenney) Christensen, and Sarah Bailey and seven step-great-grandchildren, Dakoda, Emmalee and Ava and Dax Christensen, Ryker Tenney, Brock Kehl and Elani Brock; and step-great-great grandchildren Natalyia Christensen and Mira Brock.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Art; her daughter, Vicki Lyn Robinson; her sister, Helen Deonise Osterman; brothers, Robert Dale Post and Duane Post; her brothers-in-law, Richard Klug, and Charles Klug and sister-in-law, Arlene Metz.

Family and Friends may visit Donna on Friday, August 26, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI.

A Celebration of Life for Donna will be held in Christ Lutheran Church, 4333 Cleveland Ave., Stevensville, MI on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 10:00 AM, officiated by Rev. Martin P. Measel.

Entombment to Follow at North Shore Memory Gardens.

Memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran Church.
