Donald Eugene Ridenour II “Red Dog,” 65, of Stevensville and also of Bainbridge Township, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville.
Don was born January 10, 1958 in St. Joseph, MI to Donald & Lela (Sliter) Ridenour. He attended Lakeshore Public Schools, and retired from Bendix Corporation after working there as a Machinist for 35 years. Donny had a love for music and was an avid guitarist. He loved to jam and sing with friends, and was an honorary member of The “Stumblebums”. He also enjoyed working on cars, and he had a real talent for gardening.
Don was a loving brother and uncle, and is survived by his siblings Karen (Thomas) Kirkdorfer, Denise Haynes, Richard (Julie) Ridenour and Ruth Ridenour-Rudolph; nieces and nephews Jessica Mahan, Rachel Turner, Kraig (Kathryn) Kirkdorfer, Kim (Nathaniel) Baldwin, Lindsey (Michael) Denuyl, Shane (Caroline) Ridenour, Alexis Ridenour and Phillip Ridenour; great nieces and nephews Patrick & Isla Mahan, Shelby Turner, Natalie & Collin Kirkdorfer, Tucker Baldwin, Jackson Ridenour and Max Ridenour.
Don was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Katheryn Smith and Phillip Ridenour.
Known as “Red” or “Red Dog” to his many friends, Don was always willing to pitch in and lend a helping hand. He will be greatly missed by all, and especially his friends and neighbors from Bainbridge where he resided at the “Triple Nickel” for over 30 years.
Friends and family are invited to gather and celebrate Don’s life at an Open House on Saturday January 13th, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, at Lydia’s Down Home Cooking in Bridgman.
