Dixie Roberts Kreiger, 95, of St. Joseph, passed away, Wednesday,October 6, 2021 at Whitcomb Towers, where she most recently resided.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:30 A.M. Saturday, October16, 2021 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, withRev. Bill Bridgman officiating.  Burialwill follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma.  Friends may visit with the family from 10:30until 11:30 A.M. Dixie was born November 11, 1925 in Alamo, Tennessee to Frederick &Naomi (King) Laman.  She graduated fromCaruthersville High School in Missouri. After moving to Southwest Michigan, Dixie met her future husband RudyRoberts at Shadowland Ballroom, and they were married March 13, 1948 in BentonHarbor.  As a young lady, she wasemployed at 1900 Corporation.  She thengained employment at Benton Harbor Malleable for several years before beginningher long career with St. Joseph Savings & Loan at the Stevensville branch,retiring as Branch Manager.  After Rudy’spassing on September 23, 1978, Dixie met Edward F. Kreiger, and they weremarried in 1982.  Dixie was a long-timemember of Crystal Springs Church of God where she sang in the choir and servedas treasurer.  In her free time, sheenjoyed tending to her flower gardens around the house, turning her yard into ashow place.  Dixie also enjoyed reading,cooking and baking and most of all spending time with her family, especiallyher grand & great-grandchildren.   She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Dixie is survived by her children-Kathie (John) Stancik of St. Joseph,Becky (Denny) Patzer of Kalamazoo, Mark (Jill) Roberts of St. Joseph; sevengrandchildren-Heidi (Brian) Leder, Holly (Ed) Annen, Annie (Andy) Post, Libby(Dave) Barksdale, Kim (Chris) Maffin, Tiffany (Teddy) Strawbridge & BrookeRoberts; fourteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.  Dixie was preceded in death by her firsthusband Rudy, her second husband Edward on February 15, 1996, by twosisters-Dorothy Klump & Doris Burns, and a sister-in-law Ella Rose Tidey.

Dixie’s Family would like to thank the staff at Whitcomb Towers for theexcellent care afforded Dixie while she resided there.
