David's Obituary

David Rhodes, age 87, of Baroda, MI, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, December 23, 2022. He was born on July 9, 1935, to Dean and Edith (Kochel) Rhodes in Fulton County, Indiana.

A Funeral Service for David will take place on Friday, December 30, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Starks and Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph, Michigan with Pastor Patricia Harpole officiating. Visitation with David’s Family will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place immediately following the services at Ruggles Cemetery in Baroda. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Dave’s memory can be made out to either Caring Circle Hospice or Stevensville United Methodist Church. Dave graduated from Tippecanoe High School in 1953 and then went on to attend the South Bend College of Commerce. During his high school years Dave worked at the local Tippecanoe pickle factory. After attending college, he was employed at Bendix as a bookkeeper, where he worked until he went on to work for the B.C.I.S.D. where he was responsible for installing the computer main frame. He was the manager of that department for 30 years until his retirement in 1998. Dave loved traveling and exploring Alaska with his wife Marian and friends Bob and Janet Hahne. He enjoyed playing euchre and sudoku puzzles at home overlooking Hess Lake. He was so proud of his children, Greg, Audra and Jason.

David is survived by his loving wife, Marian Rhodes; children, Greg (Diane) Rhodes, Audra (Donnie) Johnson, Jason Rhodes; grandchildren, Erica Rhodes, Gregory Scott Rhodes, II, Donnie Johnson, II, Matthew Johnson, James Rhodes, Jayda Rhodes, Issac Rhodes, Jack Rhodes, Abbey Rhodes; great-grandchildren, Donnie, III and Amberlynn; brothers, Russel (Janice) Rhodes, Don Rhodes; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dean and Edith Rhodes; and daughter-in-law, Monica Rhodes.
