David's Obituary
David L. Hartwig, 81, of St. Joseph, passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at his home.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Monday, August 1, 2022, at 11AM, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd., with Rich Slavicek officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 9AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Lest We Forget, 5512 Ivy Drive, Stevensville, MI 49127. David was born on December 1, 1941, to Adolph & Helen (Wesner) Hartwig in St. Joseph. He graduated with the class of 1958 from Eau Claire High School. He enlisted in the United States Army National Guard. David proudly served his country until he was honorably discharged.
David was known as a kind person who enjoyed helping people and volunteered with many local charities. He had a passion for golfing, bowling, and walking in the cropwalk for the twin cities. David was an avid sports fan, cheering on University of Michigan, Detroit tigers, and watching high school softball and football.
David is survived by his son Chad (Caitlin Krolzick) Hartwig; and siblings, Carol (Bill) Bradbury, Allen (Judy) Hartwig and Steve (Sheree) Hartwig.
David was preceded in death by his parents.
