Darren's Obituary
Darren Etzel, 62, of Dowagiac, Michigan, died Sunday, October 22, 2023, in the comfort of his home.
Darren was born September 22, 1961, in St. Joseph, Michigan, the son of Priscilla (Reck) Etzel and Dennis Kettlehut. Darren created a successful construction company
and enjoyed the many projects that construction brought to his life; including building his own home in 2006. He loved the freedom of being self-employed to collaborate with
friends and spend time with his daughter as she grew up, and in his later years focused on rebuilding and collecting motorcycles.
He is survived by his daughter – Danielle Etzel; mother – Priscilla Etzel; three sisters – Brenda Black, Heather (Ray) Ace and Lara (Tom) Stiles; five nephews – Ben Black, Zack Black, Lucas Black, Matthew Black, and Nathan Black.
Preceding him in death were his father – Dennis Kettlehut; and brother – Byron Etzel.
There will be no public visitation or services. Private interment will be in Mission Hills Memorial Gardens, Niles, MI. Arrangements have been entrusted to Clark Chapel – Starks Family Funeral Homes, Dowagiac. Those wishing to share a memory of Darren online may do so at www.clarkch.com.
