Daniel's Obituary

Daniel A. Hauch, 86, of Bridgman, passed away peacefully at Woodland Terrace, Bridgman, on Saturday, August 19, 2023.

A celebration of life service will be held at 5:30 pm on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. A time of gathering will be held prior starting at 4 pm until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Michigan Snowmobile & ORV Association or the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan. Dan was born on January 6, 1937, to William and Lydia (Radtke) Hauch in Benton Harbor. On August 20, 1958, he married the former Carol A. Lindemann in Benton Harbor. Dan served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1966. Professionally, Dan was employed in Administrative Service Management for many years with Whirlpool Corp., where he retired in 1993.

In his younger years, Dan enjoyed fishing, water skiing, boating and camping with his family. He was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan. Dan took pride in his lawn & garden, and was exceptionally handy, a true jack-of-all-trades. Dan and Carol really enjoyed snowmobiling, especially up north trips with Drummond Island being his favorite. Most of all, he loved his family and cherished time spent with them.

Dan is survived by his wife of 65 years, Carol Hauch; children, Greg Hauch, Donald Hauch and Karen Snyder. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lydia Hauch; infant son, David Hauch; son-in-law, Darrell Snyder and brothers, Elmer and Eric Hauch.
