Chuck's Obituary
He was born in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania on March 7, 1943. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and mentor to anyone he met. He touched many lives teaching and coaching for over 35 years of which the majority were spent at Lakeshore Public Schools, Stevensville, Michigan where as teacher and principal. He loved coaching and was a member of the Michigan High School Football Coaches Hall of Fame.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 57 years Sally, his daughters Nikki Kastner (Ken), Jenny Huizenga (Darin) and his five grandchildren, Kevin, Tony (Olivia), Katie (Drake), Nick and Matt as well as his two siblings Bob Salvano (Addie), Mike Salvano (Deb). He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Philomena Salvano.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 3, 2023, at 10:30AM, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 555 E Delaware Ave., Benton Harbor, with Father Adams officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, from 4PM until 6pm, a Rosary will be recited at 6PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or American Heart Association.
