Charles's Obituary

Charles F. Schindorff, 78, of Stevensville, Michigan passed away September 30, 2022 in the care of the staff at Hanson Hospice Center.

Charles was born June 23, 1944 in Fostoria, Ohio to Charles M. and Dorothy (Masel) Schindorff. Drafted into the Army, he served our country overseas as a Personnel Specialist during Vietnam. Charles graduated from Bowling Green State University (Ohio) with a Master’s Degree in Accounting. During his career, he worked for NCR, Heath/Zenith, and Shepherd Casters. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on his home, his cars and the family genealogy. Charles was part of several bowling and golf leagues thru his lifetime. He missed golfing with his friends so much, that one of his goals during his illness was to get back on the golf course.

Charles is survived by his two daughters Jacqueline Van Horn of Michigan and Jennifer Brown of Florida, and four grandsons – Tyler and Jakeb Brown, Michael and Timothy Van Horn.

Visitation will be held at Starks and Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd. St. Joseph, Michigan on October 10, 2022 from 5:00 PM-7:00PM. He will then be brought “home” to Ohio to be laid to rest next to his parents. His care will be transferred to Mann-Hare-Hoening Funeral Home in Fostoria, Ohio, with a Graveside Service to be held at Knollcrest Cemetery in Arcadia, Ohio, Thursday, October 13, 2022 at 2:00, with Military Honors. The family has asked in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Caring Circle Hospice (St. Joseph, Michigan), Hanson Hospice Center (Stevensville, Michigan) or Stevensville American Legion Post 568, Michigan.
